Vortec head modifications hi everyone, im looking to modify a set of vortec heads for oval track racing application. + up to.550 lift on vortec heads w/ no mods! My vortec heads are good to.500 in/.530 ex (with 'forgiveness' in mind) with common components used and absolutely no machining done to the heads valve guides/spring pockets. For stock cam, heads and cr that's very good. Valve spring seat diameter is 1.280. As illustrated in the pics in post #60; We used up about 10 heads, numerous valves, and about $50,000 worth of labor. Featuring the comp cams xm270h ca.
